Le Tour de Fleece terminé, j’ai filé les laines suivantes. Il y a approximativement 1700 mètres de laine sur la table.
The Tour de Fleece has come to end and I've got more to show for it than last year. That's roughly 1700 yards of 2-ply and 300 yards of 3-ply.

toutes été teintes par la talentueuse Krista de Pigeonroof Studios. Je n’ai pu
m’empêcher de commencer une écharpe avec la laine la plus dodue de ma petite
collection.
Of course, being part of Team PRS for the Tour, all of these yarns were dyed by the talented Krista of Pigeonroof Studios. I couldn't resist casting on the plumpest of the lot...

Je
n’ai pas d’objections aux longs trajets, surtout pas sur le train
puisque j’ai le plaisir d’avoir les mains libres pour lire, tricoter,
n’importe quoi saif tenir le volant. Par contre, jeudi dernier je me
suis trouvé à la fin d’un beau séjour chez ma mère, devant un trajet
d’une durée de sept heures sans projet à apporter sur le train. Prise de panique j’ai
piqué deux belles balles de laine (sans étiquettes, hélas!) d’un tiroir et une
paire d’aiguilles que j’avais laissées trainer lors d’une visite précédente.
J’ai rapidement imprimé les directives pour le modèle Colorplay de
Svetlana Volkova et nous nous sommes précipitées pour la gare à la
course.
J’ai dû recommencer le col lorsque je me suis aperçue que les lignes diagonales changeaient de directions après les premiers quelques pouces. Malheureusement le problème était toujours là lors du deuxième essai, alors j’ai simplement accepté qu’une partie du col aurait un zigzag. Pas trop grave en vue du fait que j’étais contente d’avoir quelque chose à travailler en chemin.
Voici le résultat, un col tricoté de laine mystérieuse sans nom, photographié en plein soleil, mi-juillet. Ha!
I have no objections to long travel times, especially when my hands are free to do something other than hold a steering wheel . But when I found myself facing a 7-hour train ride last Thursday without a project to take with me I panicked a little. Thankfully my mom has a tiny stash of yarn hidden in a drawer under her coffee table from the time when she thought she would give knitting another go. The effort was short-lived but the yarn was still there, so I nabbed two unlabeled balls of super-chunky wool and a pair of US13 circulars I’d loaned her a long time ago. I printed off Svetlana Volkova’s Colorplay pattern and dashed off to the train station.
I had to frog the cowl and start over when I noticed that my diagonal rib suddenly changed directions after the first few inches, but my second try resulted in the same weird zigzag. I just let it go and knit on, happy to have any knitting at all with me on the trip. The result is this wooly pebble-coloured cowl, knit from a mystery yarn, photographed in the scorching july sun!

My little sister is visiting from Australia with her SO, and I'd rather spend time with her rather than on the computer just now, so I I'll just post the last few week's projects in photos.
1. Washing fleece (also known as stinking up the office)
2. Combing clean locks into roving
3. Spinning the fluff stuff into squishy yarn
4. Crockpot dyeing the handspun with Brazilwood again. I don't think I've ever stained ceramic quite so effectively.
Lets pretend my chain-plying is improving despite this picture, k?
5. Knitting it all up into a silly cowl that is of absolutely no use at this time in July
6. Completing my breed study (10 breeds, 10 knitted samples, and 20 skeins!)
7. Trying to spin super bulky. This is so much harder for me than spinning fine, but I just love how chunky wool makes the punchy colours shine. This is Polwarth from Pigeonroof Studios spun up to a ginormous 6 TPI, 9.4 oz skein.
8. And of course, spending precious time and celebrating with the kid on the left.
