Je m’étais mise dans la tête que je tricoterais un chandail pour le Monsieur à partir de laine qui se trouve déjà dans le placard. Ce chandail serait sont seul cadeau de Noel. Malheureusement, la veille de Noel venue, j’ai dû lui offrir un chandail à moitié terminé, avec patron imprimé en couleur pour lui donner un indice que cette montagne de laine n`était, malgré ses apparences, une vieille débarbouillette. Les cours aillant commencés après les fêtes, j’ai mis un autre mois et demi pour le finir. J’ai manqué de laine lorsque le chandail était presque complété, me forçant à défaire un beau morceau de mon travail pour remanier un col un peu plus économe et j’ai eu à ajouter une laine contraste pour le 2x2. 

Ouache, ça fait de la peine démancher son travail…
Mais à la fin on est arrivé et voici le résultat!

En janvier j’ai reçu une invitation à une réception-cadeaux pour une amie qui attend son premier p`tit boutchou, un petit garçon qui va naître en mars.  J’ai terminé cette petite veste en deux temps trois mouvements, juste à temps pour la fête…

... que j’ai dû manque grâce à un sacré méchant travail d’école. Non mais franchement, cette histoire de cours commence vraiment à saboter mes efforts de tricot!

I convinced myself that I would knit the Mister a sweater for Christmas this year. Sadly I ended up wrapping the unfinished sweater, complete with a printout of the pattern to reassure him that his gift was not, despite appearances, an oddly-shaped rag. Worse, I eventually ran out of yarn well before it was completed and I had to frog a lot to reinvent a collar that would use much less yarn. I added a contrasting color to make up for the missing tweed yarn and tinkered some more until we came up with this:

I have to admit I’m relieved it’s finished. I love the boy but knitting large sweaters takes a bit more time than my attention span can handle.

Speaking of knitting for boys, I recently got to knit for a wee one due in March. I knit on this rather furiously in hopes of finishing it before the baby shower, which I did (just barely!), and then of course had to miss the party due to a considerable group project for school.
