Finally dry after its third bath, my Frankenstein sweater is … maybe, almost, sorta wearable. Inspired by the (much niicer) Imogen Jacket designed by Adrienne Thomas , I decided to put my Lady of the Lake kit to another use. I purchased the Imogen pattern and set to work. Instead of alternating the two yarns ( Kid Aran and Curly Locks, both from the Fleece Artist ) as is done in the Lady of the Lake design, I knit them together. That was mistake number 1. Not measuring my yardage was mistake number two. Mistake #3? Continuing on despite my resentment upon seeing the texture and rigidity of my gauge swatch. Recognising 2/3rds through that I would run out of yarn, I knit the sleeves last and added 2 1/2 inches of ribbing on each front around the collar, and an inch for the bottom hem. Thankfully, this inadvertently reducedthe itch factor on the back of my neck!
The good: I’ve leaved quite a bit from this project! For instance, I don’t think I like bouclé yarn at all!
The bad: I have about 20 balls of some Cleckheaton bouclé in the stash. Ugh.
The good: Doesn’t look half bad with a belt!
The bad: Can’t be worn without a belt. At all. Closely resembles a fuschia feather boa with purple trim.

I hope spring has arrived in your corner of the world! It certainly has here in Southwestern Ontario where the breezes are warm(er) and the geese have come back (and boy howdy are they ever noisy!!). I've just finished knitting a cardigan that is almost completely unwearable. The fit is all wrong (I have got to stop improvising perfectly good designs!), the yarn combo is itchy and the texture makes it look like a giant hairball. So those photos will be for another time. In the mean time I knit a springy shawl.

The lovely, lovely pattern is Andrea's Shawl by Kristen Kapour. Unlike that aforementioned cardi, I loved every single minute of this project. I combined some Noro Cash Island with a yarn found at Walmart, called Georga. Pretty darn soft for $4 a skein!  Ravelry project link
Two thumbs and ten toes up for this one. I LOVE IT.

Spring!
